Antares is a leader in the drywall and construction industry, working on large-scale projects.
I redefined their visual standards around durability and precision, moving the brand from a service provider to an industry authority: a system that makes invisible work read as expertise.
The Challenge:
Drywall is the trade you only notice when it is done badly. Antares held the standards of an authority and the collateral of a subcontractor, and in construction the companies that look like suppliers get treated like suppliers.
Symbol and Wordmark:
Antares had years in the industry, and the mark had to read that way before anyone read the name. The typography sets a tone the trade recognizes: sober, solid, no attempt to be clever. The "drywall specialist" line carries the rest, making the wordmark identifiable on its own. The symbol works the initial and the product at the same time. It is geometric, built to age, and above all stable, which is the same thing the company gets hired to deliver.
Safety Yellow:
Yellow was not a preference. It is the color of the site: safety signage, equipment, the language everyone on a construction floor already reads without thinking. It is also the color the established names in the category own. Using it puts Antares in that company and keeps the brand native to the environment it works in.
What Was Achieved
Antares had years of professional expertise and no visual language that carried it. The brand looked like every other name in the category, which meant the quality of the work only became visible after the contract was already signed.
How We Got There
I built the identity around the two things the trade actually runs on: durability and precision. A stable geometric symbol, a sober wordmark that states the specialty outright, and the yellow of the site itself.
Challenges
The identity moves Antares from a trade name to a standard. It runs today across the founders' corporate applications, giving the team the collateral to be read as an authority before the work starts, in a category where that judgment gets made early.
